Ulta & Besame Cosmetics Haul

Happy Friday gang!  Another week has flown by and here we are with yet another makeup haul.  Believe it or not, I did not pick up any of these items during Black Friday.  I ordered them the Friday before and have just waited for everything to come in so I can take pictures and do swatches.  What has been the one product that I have discussed that I have a serious problem with?  Lip products.  Can we all take a guess on what 99.9% of this haul contains?  Lip products.  Good lord, I know, I have a problem with lip products.  I will say I have decluttered a ton of lip products.  Not because they were expired but because I did not like the formula and wasn’t wearing them.  I’ve been really narrowing down formulas and shades that I truly love.  I probably decluttered a good 15 lip products and the lip products I have left in my collection I am truly happy and excited about.  At the start of the year, I am going to be doing another makeup inventory to actually account for everything in my collection.  Okay, seriously, I have blabbered on long enough.  Let’s get into the makeup!

Let’s talk about my small Besame Cosmetics haul.  I only picked up a few items, but I am beyond happy with what I picked up.  The only Besame items I had in my collection before this was my Classic Lip Color in 1946 Red Velvet, which I absolutely adore, and the Vanilla Brightening Powder, which I also love just hate that it is a loose powder.  To add to those, I picked up 2 Limited Edition Shades from the 1937 Snow White Collection.  Now, I did not pick these up because they were Snow White.  Honestly, not a fan of Disney Princess movies.  However, the two shades I grabbed, Snow White and One Bite, are STUNNING.  The formula is still the same as the 1946 shade, super creamy, great opacity, I cannot wait to wear them!  I also picked up a blush from them because I wanted to try something else from their line.  It’s called the Delicate Rouge Blush and I grabbed the shade 1965 Sun Kissed.  I haven’t worn it yet but I did swatch it and dear lord, so soft and creamy yet it is a powder blush!  If this is as beautiful as it feels I am definitely going to be picking up additional shades.  And before I move on to the rest of the shades, can we discuss the packaging, please??  They are the one line whose packaging I am just stunned by and love having out on my vanity (makeshift vanity I should say lol).  I would love to have everything from their line just sitting on top of my vanity.  Okay, enough about Besame, let’s move on to the Ulta Haul!

LeahERaven.com | Dose of Colors Haul - Mickey Mouse Collection

I actually placed 2 seperate Ulta order’s.  The first order contained 3 Limited Edition Dose of Colors Mickey Mouse Collection lip products.  As the same for the Snow White collection from Besame, I’m not a Mickey Mouse fan, I don’t hate him or anything, just never was into Mickey Mouse and that side of Disney.  However, the reason I picked up 3 of the lip colors was because they seemed like shades I would genuinely love.  I picked up 2 of the Lip Glosses in the collection which are Rockin’ It and One and OnlyJess from YouTube is a HUGE Disney lover and swatched these products and swears by the Dose of Colors lip gloss formula.  She was not kidding about this formula!  It is a wonderful formula!  Very much like the EM Cosmetics True Gloss formula.  The other lip product I picked up from this collection was Lip It Up Satin Lipstick in the shade Forever.  I have tried on this shade and sadly it runs a bit too warm for my ideal nude, but I still enjoy the shade on me.  It is more of a peachy nude than I anticipated.

So for the second order, again Dose of Colors but I decided to grab 3 more of their Matte Liquid Lipsticks.  Honest to God, favorite liquid lipstick formula and I have tried a ton!  Granted, before these three shades I have only tried two seperate colors (Desert Suede and Cork) but both were consistent in wear time, how they felt on the lips, they didn’t bleed, they faded beautifully when they did fade, and they lasted through doggie kisses.  Yes, I did just say doggie kisses (dog groomer here, this is vital).  Anyway, I wanted some great reds, but not just any reds, reds that will surpass my long work day, not bleed, not require touchups, you know, the full meal deal.  Tada!  I grabbed Merlot, a cool toned red, Los Anjealous, a muted ruby red, and Extra Saucy, a deep red.  I will say, I wore Los Anjealous to work the other day and it was an absolute SUCCESS!  It stayed on all day, I touched it up very lightly when I went to the bathroom, but would have been just fine if I didn’t.  I will say it did transfer a bit to my four legged kids, but I kissed them before the bath just in case so it did wash off lol.

So that’s it gang, that is my recent haul of makeup items.  I hope you found this helpful or at least interesting.  If you want me to review, do wear tests, etc on any of these items, don’t hesitate to let me know and I will make that happen.  I’m immensely happy with my purchases and am looking forward to wearing more red lips.  Red is one of my favorite colors ever, used to have red hair, have a red bedroom, literally, my life revolves around dogs (including my babies), the numbers 4 and 14, and the colors red, black, and grey.  OBSESSED and I do not throw around that term lightly.  Have you made any makeup purchases recently?  Do any Black Friday shopping?  Or Cyber Monday shopping?  Let me know!  Thank you so much for stopping by and until next time!

Ulta Haul: July 2018

ultahaulimage

Now I know I talked about needing to do an update on my Sephora Haul and Black Moon Cosmetics Haul and I promise those are coming.  However, I recently ordered some things from Ulta that I want to share with you and be honest about.  For the most part, the items I picked up were cruelty-free.  However, I did pick up 2 lip products that are not.  I really was intrigued by the colors of these products and fell to temptation.  I’m not perfect, I know this, but I am not going to come on here and showcase some of the items I picked up and hide the fact that I picked up 2 non-cruelty-free items.  I’m an honest person.  So, with all of that being said, if you are interested in what I picked up recently at Ulta, just keep on reading!

Since I mentioned that I picked up two items that are not cruelty-free, I will go ahead and get those out of the way now.  The first non-cruelty-free item was the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Liquid Lipstick Les Chocolate* in Sweet Tooth ($9.99 US).  It is a pale nude shade and I will say I do not have anything like it in my collection.  The other item was a MAC Lipstick* in the shade Stone ($18.50 US).  This shade I have wanted for years but never got around to purchasing it.  I happened to get a wild hair up my ass and ordered it.  Honestly, I really love the shade but I am happy to say I have dupes in my collection.  With those two out of the way, we can get onto the rest of the good stuff!

macstonelorealsweettooth

maclorealswatches

The only other “high-end” product I picked up from this haul was a BareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Laquer* in the shade Yaaas ($19 US).  I also picked up Bae, but I ended up returning that shade because it was super pinky/peach and I cannot stand those colors on me.  Yaaas is described as a light nude beige.

baremineralsliplaquernyxsuedelipliner

baremineralsnyxswatches

From here on out is all drugstore baby and I am super excited!  Physicians Formula was on sale for buy one, get one half off, so I picked up two of their new Killer Curves Voluptuous Curling Mascara* in Black and in Black/Brown ($10.99 US).  I’ve been on a hunt for a new mascara since I am on my last tube of the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise* ($9.99 US).  I grabbed this one because the description of the product and the shape of the wand is very similar to the L’Oreal one, so I’m hoping it gives near the same effect.

physiciansformulamascaras

Next up are items from FLOWER Beauty.  FLOWER Beauty has been on my radar for a while, but for some reason, I have been hesitant to pick anything up.  Well, I don’t know if hesitant is the right reason, more so because the products don’t see to work with my aesthetic.  None of the lip shades I would wear, I don’t need any more highlighting items, the eyeshadows look pretty, but I have quite a few in my collection now that I don’t even use, and the blushes aren’t colors I would wear either.  That leaves very little options.  So, with that being said, I picked up the Light Illusion Liquid Foundation* in L2 Ivory ($13.99 US), although once I got it home I’m thinking I should have grabbed L1, but I can make it work.  The other product I picked up from this line (buy one, get one half off mind you) was the Seal The Deal Hydrating Setting Spray* ($12.99 US).  Both of these items I have heard really good things about, so for my first time trying out the brand, I went with these!

flowerbeautyitems

The last two items were the NYX Professional Makeup Suede Matte Lip Liner* in the shade Moonwalk ($3.99 US) and an M506 Brush from Morphe* ($6 US).  The lip liner seemed like a perfect pairing for not only the Stone lipstick, but other lipsticks in my collection since most of them run on the greige side.  They apparently have a matching lipstick and before I go on a No-Buy, I am thinking about picking it up.  It seems like it will be a great drugstore dupe for Stone by MAC and Laced by Melt Cosmetics.  The brush I grabbed because Emily Noel from YouTube recommended it.  Since I was there, I picked it up.

Oh, I lied!  I forgot one more item!  I also grabbed the Wet N Wild MegaCushion Foundation SPF 15* in the shade 106A Light Ivory ($8.99 US).  I’ve been really curious about this foundation as well, several of my favorite YouTuber’s have raved about this one and I thought I’d give it a go.  I wasn’t a fan of the Photo Focus Foundation* ($5.99 US) at all.  It did not mesh well with my skin.  This one seems like it is more skin-like, so I’m super stoked!

wetnwildmegacustion

So that completes my latest makeup haul from Ulta.  I’m very excited and happy about my purchases and can’t wait to use them.  Of course, I will do an update in the future, but it might be a bit longer than what my updates for the Black Moon Cosmetics Haul and Sephora April VIB Sale Haul was/is.  I’m currently working on a project pan and that includes a foundation and setting spray.  I also already have two mascaras opened and I don’t want to open the Physicians Formula ones until those are completed, so again, might be a bit.

Well, I hope you found this haul interesting!  If you have any of these items, let me know what you think of them!  The items I’m most curious about are the foundations and the mascara.  I’m hoping they will work out.  That does it for me!  Thank you so much for stopping by and until next time!

NYX, Wet N Wild, & Bitter Lace Beauty Haul & Mini Reviews

*This post contains affiliate links.  There is no cost to you if you use them, but clicking and purchasing through one of them earns me a very small commission.

As you could probably tell by now, I am a lover of makeup.  Just not the stereotypical, Instagram beat type of makeup.  My glam is not the “typical” glam.  When I mean “typical” glam, I mean the makeup plastered on many popular Instagram accounts as well as brand accounts.  Now, if that is your thing, power to you.  You do you.  I’m more into the different and obscure type of beauty.  If you read My Makeup Aesthetic Tag, you already know.

Well, I did a little bit of shopping in the past month and a half and that I would do a collective haul for you guys as well as mini reviews.  As you may or may not know, I am working on my collection to be fully cruelty-free.  So, moving forward, any makeup product I bring into my collection must be cruelty-free.  Enough with the blabber, let’s get onto the makeup!  Although, grab a drink or a snack for this one.  It may be a long read.

Bitter Lace Beauty
Bitter Lace Beauty is an Indie brand.  You may have heard of them when their Rainbow Highlighter went viral last year.  Highlighters are what they are known for and offer and I picked up 3 different highlighters.  Unfortunately, 2 were limited edition and the third is being discontinued.  Sad face.  I’ll still show them off anyway.  First, let’s talk about the package the products were shipped in.

bitterlacebeauty02

Everything was securely wrapped.  The box was pink and had beautiful floral detail on the inside.  There was even a cute little card with Holographic detailing and a mermaid sticker.  Super cute.

Bitter Lace Beauty Highlighters | LeahERaven.com

The first highlighter I picked up was SLAY, a limited edition Halloween Kill-uminator.  Oh am I a sucker for the play on words with this one.  They describe it as “A white gold flecked base with an intense metallic blood red splatter.”  Next is Blood Lust, a limited edition Valentine highlighter, which is the exact red from the SLAY Kill-uminator.  It is described as “A blue-based red with a slightly warm amber shift.”  Quick note, this one is scented and it smells amazing!  It’s a combination of sandalwood, amber musk, and vanilla.  Bitter Lace Beauty, if you happen to be reading this.  I need that fragrance.  Like, pronto!  Thank you in advance!  Lastly is the discontinued shade of Deadly Nightshade (it is still in stock ATM and for only $9 US).  The ONLY reason I picked up this highlighter was for the Nightmare Before Christmas reference.  That’s it.  They describe it as “a cooler toned gray beige that has hints of pink and green undertones that appear silver in the pan.”

All three are quite beautiful on the skin.  The texture is incredibly soft and buttery.  I will say SLAY is slightly, slightly more powdery to the point you might consider it being crumbly, but if you use it very lightly, there is no problem.  Now, don’t think just because I recommend pressing into them lightly you are not going to get off a killer pay off, because you are wrong.  These are incredibly high shine.  I mean, HIGH SHINE.  They are blinding.  I personally don’t care for SLAY or Blood Lust as actual highlighters but on my eyes and inner corner.  Damn.  You can’t miss it.  Blood Lust is almost exactly like Kat Von D’s Raw Power Metal Crush Eyeshadow (discontinued).  Blood Lust is a bit more blood red, while Raw Power leans more towards a rust red, but in swatches, you cannot tell much of a difference.  Also, Raw Power tends to have more of a gold reflect than Blood Lust.

bitterlacebeauty03

Overall, I thoroughly enjoy these products and have not been disappointed.  Again, I don’t use these as actual highlights, I enjoy them more for eyeshadow purposes.  If these are your cup of coffee, then I highly recommend!

NYX Professionals Makeup
There have been a few products by NYX Professionals Makeup that has caught my eye that I wanted to give a go.  Before picking up these few items, I have the Faux Blacks Eyeliner in Oxblood ($7.99 US, fucking LOVE this product), the Epic Ink Liner ($7.99 US), and a couple of the Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks ($6.99 US).  I’ve used quite a few NYX products and overall been really happy with the brand.  What I have been super intrigued and excited to try the Vivid Brights Creme Color in Bad Blood ($9.99 US) and the Strictly Vinyl Lip Gloss in Femme Fatale ($7.99 US).  So, besides grabbing those two items I picked up the Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Alien ($6.99 US) and the Butter Gloss in Black Berry Pie ($4.99 US).  When I made my order they threw in a Worth The Hype Mascara ($7.99 US).

nyxcosmetics01

The Strictly Vinyl Lip Gloss in Femme Fatale is immensely glossy and black.  I didn’t have to build this up much to get full-color payoff.  The effect is wonderful.  The downfall is this lipgloss is heavy on the lips and it does bleed.  Would definitely recommend a lip liner with this product.  The Butter Gloss in Black Berry Pie gives a very similar effect to the vinyl lip gloss.  It is not as thick as the vinyl lip gloss and it does need to be built up in order to reach full opacity.  Like the vinyl lip gloss, I would totally recommend a lip liner.  Also, you don’t need both.  I would say pick up the Butter Gloss, you get almost 3 times the product and it is $3 cheaper.

nyxcosmetics02

The Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Alien is exactly as its name states.  It is a cream liquid lipstick.  It does mattify a touch, but it is not transfer-proof.  On my lips, it kind of comes across as more of a blue-based black.  It is very liquidy in consistency, but it is comfortable on the lips and not overly drying.  I enjoy it, but if you are looking for something transfer-proof, this would not be the product for you.  Lastly is the Vivid Brights Creme Colour in Bad Blood, the item I was most excited about.  Unfortunately, this is a bit disappointing for me.  I haven’t tried mixing some of my Inglot Duraline in with it yet to see if it improves the texture at all, but as is, the creme is extremely dry.  It is hard to pick up a decent amount of product with a brush or your finger and it is almost clumpy.  Also, with it being so dry it takes a bit to blend out.  It also takes quite a bit of building in order to get a good color payoff.  I am going to keep playing around with it to see if I can get it to work, but for right now, sadly I don’t recommend.  If you have tried this and got it to work, let me know how you did it in the comments section!  Maybe I’m just using it wrong.

Wet N Wild Beauty
Wet N Wild
has to be my favorite drugstore brand, hands down.  Especially nowadays, Wet N Wild has been stepping up their game.  Their highlighters work incredibly well, their Liquid Catsuits are one of my favorite liquid lipstick formulas, their price tags are amazeballs, they are just great.  My favorite nude lipstick is from Wet N Wild, I love Wet N Wild.

This time around I picked up a total of 3 new Liquid Catsuits ($4.99 US) (I know there is only two in the picture, I will explain why shortly), a MegaLast Lip Color in Black Out ($2.49 US), a MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in White Raven (Limited Edition $4.99 US), and a Pro Brush Line Tapered Highlighting Brush ($5.99 US).

wetnwild01

Now, let’s talk about the Liquid Catsuits.  I originally ordered 3 DIFFERENT shades of Liquid Catsuits.  So Noir Cool, the black, Sleepy Hollow, a medium blue based grey shade, and Widows Peek, from what the pictures show, a dark grey.  Nope.  It’s black.  I even opened it and swatched it.  Widows Peek is a black shade, not dark grey.  I mean, I’m not super mad, can never have enough black lipsticks in my opinion, but was definitely expecting a dark grey.  Le sigh.

wetnwild02

The formula for So Noir Cool and Sleepy Hollow are consistent with Nudie Patootie, a more moussey texture, but on the slightly thinner side.  Didn’t have to build these in order to get full opacity.  One dip in the tube was all it took.  Wear time, same as usual.  Pretty decent without eating too many greasy foods.  Layers decently, but not the best, can get a little crumbly.  The MegaLast Lip Color is a standard lipstick in my opinion.  It does not come out the blackest but does have decent staying power and I did not notice any bleeding.  It ends up being more of a matte finish on the lips and is slightly drying.  All three lip products I enjoy and would recommend.

Lastly is the Goth-o-graphic MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in White Raven.  I am going to be honest with you.  I only bought it because it was apart of the Goth-o-graphic collection and it had Raven in the title.  I’m not going to get much use out of this highlighter because it does have a purple shift to it and I am not a fan of purple.  However, the formula is very smooth and buttery and the pay off is quite brilliant.  If you like a purple shift to your highlights and you can still find this one, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Holy shit this took a lot longer to type up than I was anticipating.  I did say this was going to be a long one.  If you are slightly curious why I purchased so many black lip products, in the future I am going to be doing a black lipstick showdown.  Which brands have the best black lipstick, liquid lipstick, gloss, etc.  So I am collecting!  Well, I hope you found this somewhat interesting or helpful if you did let me know in the comments down below.  Have you tried any of these products?  What are your thoughts on them?  Thanks for stopping by and until next time!

April Sephora VIB Sale: Haul

*This post contains affiliate links.  There is no cost to you if you use them, but clicking and purchasing through one of them earns me a very small commission.

First off, let me preface this post by saying I should have also included that this is 99.8% a Kat Von D Beauty haul.  If you happened to read my Makeup Aesthetic Tag post, you will have already learned that I love Kat Von D, her makeup and aesthetic, and absolutely love her brand.  One thing I have been debating about for a while is doing a full face of Kat Von D Beauty.  Well, I do have quite of bit of her products, but needed a few others to round out the look.

Kat Von D’s most recent launch is something I have been looking forward too.  I’m always on the hunt for new brow products that can possibly surpass my Anastasia Beverly Hills products, both the Brow Wiz and Pomade.  With that launching 4/20, I decided, fuck it, and placed a full order on Sephora.

sephoravibsalehaul001

When typing up this post, there was another order I placed during the sale, but it hadn’t arrived in time to take pictures, so I will just mention and link the products first.

I picked up another Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick ($20 US) in the shade Flirt.  It is described as a “cheeky brown.”  I have been debating about this color for a while.  I have the shade Spice Girl, which is a brownish mauve, and truly enjoy the feeling of the lipstick on my lips.  The reason I have been debating about Flirt is because DupeThat listed Flirt as a dupe for Cryptic Cosmetics Creepshow ($17 US).  Creepshow has been out of stock for AGES.  Every time I have received a notification of it being back in stock, I’ve arrived too late.  Forewarning you, everything from here on out is nothing by Kat Von D Beauty.  You have been warned. lol

Next, I picked up a Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20 US) in the shade Nahz Fur Atoo, a blood crimson shade.  I have had her liquid lipsticks in the past and have enjoyed them.  They are a little bit more drying than others, but not to where I feel uncomfortable in them.  They also don’t have the greatest staying power on my lips, even when I don’t eat or drink anything.  Again, I don’t mind this because they do layer well in my opinion.  For those wondering, I have had Bow ‘N Arrow and Witches in the past.

The last item I picked up on this separate order was the Kat Von D 24-Hour Super Brow Long-Wear Pomade ($19 US) in Scarlet.  I was debating on also picking up Graphite, but I have yet to use up my Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade ($18 US) in Granite.  Once I do that and if I enjoy the formula of Scarlet, I will order Graphite.  The reason I ordered Scarlet is because A) I love the color red.  I try and incorporate red into my wardrobe and look every single day.  B) I am thinking of dying my hair red again so I would like to be able to match my brows.  Even if I don’t end up dying my hair red again, I would definitely still incorporate red brows into my look.  Now, let’s get onto the items I have already received, shall we?

sephoravibsalehaul002

The first item I’ll talk about is the Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation ($35 US).  I picked up the shade Light 42 Neutral.  I have had this foundation before, although it has been a while.  I used it up but never repurchased.  I will say, the shade I picked up is a little light for me, but I can still make it work.  The only gripe I have is it claims to be neutral but it runs extremely pink, least on me it does.  I tend to have a more neutral to slightly yellow undertone even though I am quite fair, so the foundation is a bit off on its own.  When I do a full face of Kat Von D Beauty, I’ll review everything more in-depth and show what I mean.  I do plan to pick up another shade, I think Light 45 Warm might be what I am looking for.

Well, since I picked up the foundation, I had to pick up the concealer.  Everything moving forward I have never used or tried before, so all of this will be new for me!  I grabbed the Lock-It Concealer Crème ($26 US) in L1 Neutral and shit.  This is light!  I had to double check to make sure I didn’t pick up the white concealer.  So, safe to say it will be extremely brightening on me.

swatches002

Since I have a swatch of it next to the concealer, I will mention that I picked up a Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick ($19 US) in the shade Bow ‘N Arrow.  This was a recommendation by a few people in the Sephora community tab.  I have been on the hunt for a more brownie nude shade that didn’t run warm and quite a few people recommended the lipstick version of Bow ‘N Arrow, so why the hell not right?

Now onto all the eye products!  Like I mentioned earlier, in my other order I did decide to pick up her pomade, but on this order, I did pick up a Signature Brow Precision Pencil ($20 US) in the shade Graphite.  I did forget to take a picture of a swatch of this, however, I don’t think it would have shown up well because it was a bit light.  I will showcase it in the full face of Kat Von D Beauty though.

What I did swatch was all of the eyeshadows.  I grabbed the Shade & Light Eye Contour Quad (discontinued) in Smoke, another Metal Crush Eyeshadow (discontinued) in Black No. 1, and the Lolita Eyeshadow ($19 US).  I forgot that I picked up another Metal Crush Eyeshadow.  I currently own Raw Power and Thunderstruck and absolutely LOVE THEM.  I’m so excited to play around with Black No. 1 and I hope she is just reformulating them so they are all vegan.  I truly hope she doesn’t get rid of them permanently.  I decided to pick up the Shade & Light Eye Contour Quad in Smoke because I have been debating on it for a while.  Then, once I realized it was being discontinued I was really edging towards picking it up.  Realizing it was still in stock during the sale was the final pushing factor.  The smoothness and quality just from the swatches remind me of the formula of the Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette, so hopefully, I won’t be disappointed.  I will say, Jen from Jen Loves Reviews did a video with Lindsay Schoolcraft  (😍 😍 😍 😍) of Cradle of Filth and she raved about the quads sooo that might also have swayed my overall reason to buy.

swatches001

The last two items are the #70 Pomade Brow Brush ($18 US) and Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist ($26 US).  The brush I decided on because I have seen quite a few reviews of the brow products by Kat and the brush’s tip actually seemed thin.  Not disappointed on that, although I haven’t tried it yet.  The Makeup Setting Mist I have heard mixed reviews on.  I don’t think you can have enough setting sprays, so I went for it.  I haven’t used it on my face yet, but I did test out the mister and holy hell!  That mist is beautiful, extremely fine!  So, I’m excited to see how it works for the face.

Now I know I have done two hauls relatively close to each other, but I promise you there are probably not going to be a lot of hauls in the future.  I am extremely picky about what I purchase and most items that are released do not interest me.  They seem more suited for the Instagram and Beauty Guru scene and clearly, that is not me.  Everything I purchase has to fit within my aesthetic and needs to be practical for me and my look.  Before I went extremely ham on purchasing products because of packaging and hype.  I have for the most part gotten over that, and the overall need to constantly buy.  I am trying at least to be a little more practical in my spending.

Well, I hope you found this somewhat interesting.  If you decided to pick up a few items from the Sephora VIB Sale, I would love to hear what you got!  Also, if there are any items that I picked up that you have or have tried, let me know how it went for you in the comment section.  I think that does it for now, thanks for stopping by and until next time!

Black Moon Cosmetics Haul: Vegan & Cruelty-Free

Black Moon Cosmetics is a brand that I first heard of through Tori of Biohazardous Beauty on YouTube.  Since then, I have been following their feed on Instagram, completely enamoured by their makeup brand.  The overall aesthetic of the brand is beautiful, but let’s be real.  If you are a creature of the night, you are obsessed with moons, am I right?  Black Moon Cosmetics started in early 2015 and they are cruelty-free, vegan, paraben free, and gluten free.

So for about a year now, I have been back and forth debating if I wanted to order a few products from the brand or not.  Well, clearly I bit the bullet and picked up a few items.  Now, I am not reviewing anything today, I’m going to play around with everything for about a month and give my thoughts then.  This is just the haul part.  However, let me say, their customer service is EXCELLENT.  Unfortunately, the first purchase I made from them, the package was incorrectly delievered and I never received it.  The customer service team from Black Moon answered my email promptly, were incredibly sweet, and sent out another package to replace the lost/stolen one.   Now enough blabber, let’s get onto the goodies!

bmchaul004

bmchaul008

Real quick, can we just take a moment to admire the packinging?  Even the detail they put into the actual cardboard box that is sent out is beautiful!  When I originally opened the package, everything was extremely secure, the Moonlighters were bubble wrapped and the lipsticks were wrapped in tissue paper with a cute little Black Moon sticker.

bmchaul002

The Moonlighters are a recent release.  I’m not sure if they are still doing this little perk, but if you ordered 2 or more the Moonlighters, they sent out a free face brush.

bmchaul005

Of the Moonlighters, I decided to grab Squid ($22 US) and Centipede ($22 US).  I don’t have an actual white highlighter, so I thought why not pick up one now?  Centipede is more of a gold tone highlighter, but it looks like it fits for fair skin.

bmchaul006

bmchaul007

I also picked up a pair of lashes in the style Sagitarrius, because well, Sagittarius here.  I thought it would be a crime for me not to pick up a pair.

Lastly, the liquid lipsticks.  I picked up the Dearly Departed duo (currently on sale for $32 US) which contained Grim ($18 US) which is described as a “deathly delicious cool brown,” and Grave ($18 US), a brown with brick red undertones.  I also decided to throw in Hazel, 1) it was on sale and 2) I don’t have anything like it.  I thought it would be a fun way to step out of my grey, red, black, brown comfort zone lol.  Hazel is a mix up of an army green and olive green.  It was a limited edition shade and is sold out.

bmchaul003

bmchaul001

I’m beyond excited to play around with these items!  Like I said earlier, I’m going to play around with these for about a month before I give my overall thoughts.  Have you tried Black Moon Cosmetics before?  What are some of your favorite products from the brand or least favorite?  What other Indie brands do you think I should try next?  Let me know in the comment section!  Well, I think that does it for now!  Thanks for stopping by and until next time!
