YouTube Made Me Buy It: EmilyNoel83 Edition

LeahERaven.com | YouTube Made Me Buy It: Emily Edition

Hi everyone, how was your weekend?  Do anything fun or interesting?  Or were you like me and had to work?  Well, whatever you had to do or had the pleasure of doing, I hope it was enjoyable!  I thought today I would do another edition of YouTube Made Me Buy It, this time talking about products EmilyNoel83 influenced me to purchase.  I absolutely adore Emily and just to give you a heads up, this Wednesday I am bringing you my review on The Emily Edit, The Wants Palette.  So if you’ve been wondering about that, stay tuned!  But enough blabber, let’s get into it!

Note: This post DOES contain affiliate links.

LeahERaven.com | YouTube Made Me Buy It: Emily Edition - Em Cosmetics True Gloss

EM Cosmetics True Gloss ($17 US)
She absolutely SOLD me on this formula.  This shade isn’t up her alley, but it is up mine!  The shade I have is called Truffle Haze, a sheer grey nude shade.  This gloss is comfortable on the lips and not sticky, which I fucking hate.  I’ve been getting into lipsticks and glosses lately, shocking I know, but I’ve been selective on what makes the cut.  This gloss definitely makes the cut.

LeahERaven.com | YouTube Made Me Buy It: Emily Edition - Besame Cosmetics Classic Color Lipstick

Besame Cosmetics Classic Color Lipstick ($22 US)
The color I have is Red Velvet 1946 which is described as a mid-tone neutral red.  Oh, and it is absolutely STUNNING.  Besame Cosmetics is a brand dedicated to recreating vintage shades in modern formulas.  Their packaging also stays true to that.  I absolutely love the look of the 1940’s era and I wish I could pull off a red lip, but sadly I don’t feel comfortable in a bold red lip, but I will NEVER get rid of this.  It is way too beautiful.  It also has a very comfortable formula.

LeahERaven.com | YouTube Made Me Buy It: Emily Edition - Morphe M506 Tapered Mini Blending Brush

Morphe M506 Tapered Mini Blending Brush ($6 US)
Now I am not particularly a fan of Morphe but when Emily recommended this brush, I picked one up the next time I was at Ulta and man, this brush is a game changer.  I never thought a brush like this would work so well and never thought I would actually need a brush like this.  I can perfectly get into my outer V without going overboard and completely blowing out a look too far.  It’s a perfect brush.

LeahERaven.com | YouTube Made Me Buy It: Emily Edition - Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder

Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder ($9.99 US)
This powder has reached holy grail status for me, no lie.  It sets my makeup without it looking powdery on my skin and still gives me this natural, slightly radiant finish without looking greasy.  I cannot be without it.  I haven’t used it in so long and I’m dying over here.  I’m trying to currently use up the other powders in my collection before returning back to this one.  I’m counting down the days.

LeahERaven.com | YouTube Made Me Buy It: Emily Edition - RevolutionXEmily The Emily Edit

RevolutionXEmily: The Emily Edit
The Wants Palette ($20 US) & The Needs Palette ($15 US)
Now, I’m pretty sure you KNEW this one was coming.  With how excited I was about her surprise launch and how much I love this girl, you knew this one was coming.  I know I can support her by just watching her videos, commenting, liking, yadda, yadda, yadda, but I wanted to also support her makeup collaboration.  She’s never done one before and even though these are permanent, I had to pick them up right away.

So that does it for today’s post.  I know I’ve asked this before, but if you watch beauty YouTube, what are some products that you purchased that were influenced by some of your favorite YouTubers?  Any regret purchases or did you find some holy grail products?  I would love to hear about them in the comments, maybe we can have a discussion!  Thank you so much for your time today, I really appreciate it.  Definitely stop by Wednesday if you’d like to read my review on The Wants Palette.  Fair warning, it’s going to be a long one!  Until then!

If My ENTIRE Makeup Collection Disappeared…

LeahERaven.com | If My Entire Makeup Collection Disappeared, These Are The First 10 Makeup Items I'd Repurchase

Hey all and welcome!  Happy Friday!  Today I thought we would do a fun little YouTube inspired post.  This idea originally came from Emily Noel and Jessica on YouTube, which they got the idea from a subscriber (how cool right?).  Emily’s video I will link here and Jessica’s video I will link here.  So, the title leaves out the second part of this post.  If my entire makeup collection disappeared, what 10 makeup items would I repurchase first.  Isn’t that a cool idea?  It was so different and even though the videos were posted a while ago, I thought this would be a fun post idea!  I’d really love to see more people do this video idea as a post, so if you have done it or plan to do it, leave your link in the comment section so I can check it out!  But, if you are curious as to what my 10 makeup items would be, just keep on reading!  Just want to quickly throw this out there, I plan to go in order of which I would apply my makeup, this is not including any tools, and everything can be purchased from one location.  Because in my mind, if my entire collection disappeared and I needed things to put together a look, I don’t want to have to be running around finding everything.  I’d want a one-stop shop, you know what I mean?  Anyway, onto the makeup!

1. Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Liquid Makeup ($40 US)

Now, if you have been reading my blog for a bit, you know how much I love this foundation.  This foundation works so beautifully on my skin, I don’t even need a primer.  It looks so natural and has all day staying power on my skin.  This isn’t even a question on purchasing!

LeahERaven.com | Wet N Wild PhotoFocus Concealer Wand in Light Ivory $3.99 US

2. Wet N Wild Photofocus Concealer in Light Ivory ($3.99 US)

Next up would be the Wet N Wild Photofocus Concealer.  It is hands down my favorite concealer that I have tried, it is inexpensive, and you get a great bang for your buck.  I not only use it as a concealer for under my eyes and any spots I need to conceal, but it also works great as an eye primer.

LeahERaven.com | Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Translucent Powder $9.99 US

3. Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Translucent Powder ($9.99 US)

Yet another product that is Holy Grail status for me, so you know I am not skipping out on this one.  It sets my makeup beautifully and keeps me radiant without looking greasy.  It also works incredibly under the eyes to set my concealer.

LeahERaven.com | L.A. Girl Just Blushing Blush in Just Because $5.99 US

4. L.A. Girl Just Blushing Blush in Just Because ($5.99 US)

A great multitasking product for me.  I use this as a contour as well as an eyeshadow.  It is a great tone for my skin tone and I love throwing this into the crease for a quick swipe of color on my eyes.

LeahERaven.com | Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette for Face & Eyes in Natural $13.99 US

5. Physicians Formula Shimmer Bricks in Natural Nude ($14.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Another type of multitasking product.  If I focus more of my brush on top, I can use as a wonderful, bright highlight, I can use different shades as a pop on my eyes for shadow, and if I focus more at the bottom, I can obtain a very glowy bronze, or if I focus on the pinks, a glowy blush.  I love single products that can multitask.

LeahERaven.com | Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz $21 US

6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($21 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
I love the Anastasia Brow Wiz, I have gone through so many.  It has never failed me or let me down.  I’m also very particular when it comes to my brows, so I would definitely want to pick up something tried and true!

LeahERaven.com | NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Clear Eyebrow Gel $5.99 US

7. NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Clear Eyebrow Gel ($5.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Because of working in such a humid environment, I need a brow gel to make sure my brows don’t melt off or go anywhere.  This NYX one hasn’t let me down and for $5.99 I feel it is such a great buy!  I’ve had my current one for a while now and it has yet to dry up on me.

LeahERaven.com | Essence I Love Extreme Volume Mascara $4.99 US

8. Essence I Love Extreme Waterproof Mascara ($4.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Because I work with dogs for a living, I need a mascara that is waterproof but still makes my lashes look great.  This mascara does that for me and it is so inexpensive!  It gives me volume, length, and holds my curl.  Great, great product.

LeahERaven.com | Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Desert Suede $18 US

9. Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Desert Suede ($18 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Oh, look at that, another holy grail product.  I can wear this lip shade every day and not get sick of it.  For me, this is my everyday nude that I can dress up and dress down and it looks good on me no matter what.

LeahERaven.com | Milani Make It Last Setting Spray $9.99 US

10. Milani Make It Last Setting Spray ($9.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Setting spray, for my line of work anyway, is a must.  This Milani one is great, does the job and does it well.  It sets and blends all the powders together, but doesn’t make me look matte or like the life has been sucked out of my face.

So that does it for the 10 makeup items I’d repurchase if my entire collection disappeared.  If you have done this idea, drop your link in the comments so I can check it out!  If you haven’t done a post, I’d love to know what 10 items you’d repurchase!  Are there any items that I would pick up that you also would pick up?  Let me know in the comments!  Well, I think I’ve rambled on enough for one evening.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend and until next time!

Top 5 Favorite Beauty YouTuber’s

YouTube is a huge part of my life, fortunately, unfortunately, I don’t know.  I don’t have cable so if I want to watch something, it is either in the form of movies, Prime Video, Netflix or YouTube.  YouTube tends to win as soon as I get home from work and I am relaxing.  It’s easy for me to pull up a video and eat dinner while lounging on the couch with my girls.  That being said, there are a few YouTuber’s that once I see their video on my feed, I instantly click.  I thought I would stick to 5 YouTuber’s, but trust me there are more.  These are the YouTuber’s, regardless of what the upload is, I will watch.  So, if you are interested, just keep on reading.  PSA: None of these Thumbnails are mine, I did a screenshot of each of their videos, 100% credit goes to each individual creator.  Wanted to make sure that was perfectly clear,

thataylaa

1. Taylor of ThaTaylaa

I have lost track of how many years I have watched Taylor.  I want to say at least 4 or 5 years now.  Her personality, her dedication to her channel, her constant creativity, it blows me away.  She is so consistent with her channel and I truly feel the love and effort she puts into every video.  Plus, she does so much for the community.  Teaming up with Project Beauty Share and the Seattle Humane Society, this girl is fucking bomb.  From YouTuber’s that I watch, when she became involved with Project Beauty Share, I truly felt a bunch of them started becoming more involved with shelters.  That could just be me, but that is what I picked up on.

emilynoel83

2. Emily from EmilyNoel83
Oh, Emily.  I just adore her, Bub, and her two precious little girls.  Her daughters are INSANELY adorable.  Swear to you, it is a crime, and if it isn’t, it damn well should be.  Her vlogs are such a joy to watch.  They instantly brighten my mood and day.  Bub is such a good sport when unboxing products.  I’m not a fan of PR unboxings, but when he does it, I’m down!  Emily is so incredibly thorough on her channel, her reviews are just spectacular.  How she manages to upload every week, 3 to 4 times a week, with two little ones, and make EVERY SINGLE VIDEO incredible, just leaves me stunned.

jambeauty89

3. Jessica from JamBeauty89
Jessica is a doll.  I love her!  She is so sweet, funny, charismatic and so genuine.  I love her video ideas and how just normal her videos are.  I don’t mean that in a negative way, but in a way that appeals to consumers who are not beauty gurus or makeup know-it-alls.  Honestly, Taylor and Emily are the same way.  I see a pattern here.  She gives information about products more directed to the everyday consumer, in my opinion.  I don’t need false lashes or crazy expensive products.  I want to watch someone that I can relate to.  You know I love her when I watch her pregnancy videos and baby videos and I don’t want children, like ever.  That is dedication.  She’s just lovely.

jkissa

4. JKissa
JKissa is so incredibly talented with makeup and huge upside, she is a cruelty-free YouTuber and a vegetarian like me!  I enjoy watching her colorful eye looks and reviews.  Now, I am not a fan of colorful looks on myself, but I love watching her.  Especially her Random Color Challenge videos (her last one with her fiance Chris was FUCKING ADORABLE).  She also has a pitbull mix rescue name Tsuki who, AHHHH, I just want to squeeze!!!  JKissa is just so sweet, so kind, so talented, and so informative with her tutorials.  She’s just wonderful.

amberf

5. Amber F
Amber I found about a year ago I would say and I have absolutely fallen in love with her channel and her.  She does a lot of project panning videos, get ready with me videos, and monthly makeup baskets.  What’s different about Amber is her style of videos.  I get sucked into her panning projects, watching her progress, and what I love is utilizing her products into videos.  What I mean is right now she is trying to pan the Kat Von D Beauty Mi Vida Loca palette.  She showcases tons of different eye looks using that one palette and helps you figure out how to shop your stash in order to recreate the look.  She focuses on makeup for the everyday person, who needs work appropriate makeup.  She gives reviews on products, but she’s more than that.  Highly recommend!

Alright guys, so that does it for my top 5 Favorite Beauty YouTuber’s.  Like I said, I could go on for a bit of different beauty YouTuber’s that I watch, but these 5 I DO NOT miss an upload from, and that is definitely a rare thing.  Let me know some of your favorite beauty YouTuber’s you enjoy watching.  I love finding new people, especially smaller channels!  Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time!
