A Quick & Easy Holiday Look

Hey gang and happy Monday.  Today is the big Cyber Monday where tons of deals are happening online.  I for one have not purchased anything today.  Like I said on Friday’s post, the only Black Friday shopping I did was purchase some toys for my BF’s son and my niece.  Other than that, I have all that I need and want at the moment.  That being said, I did purchase a few things the week before that should be coming in soon.  Anyway, that’s not why I’m here today.  I’m here to share a quick and easy holiday look.  I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not a super “Glam” person.  I love makeup, clearly, but I’m not about full on Glam makeup.  Looks absolutely beautiful on some many men and women, it’s just not for me.  I love quick and easy makeup that looks great and still makes a statement without being over the top for my tastes.  If you are interested in what that look is, just keep on reading!

Now when I say quick and easy, I’m looking for my makeup to take me no more than 15 to 20 minutes, 20 minutes being the absolute maximum.  Of course, if I am just playing around with makeup that day, I don’t mind it being longer.  However, when I am trying to put my face on to go to work, for a get-together, or just ready for the day, I don’t want to spend an hour doing so, you know what I mean?  So with that being said, let’s get going. | Quick & Easy Holiday Look

For my base, I’m working through my Milani Mattifying + Pore-Filling Primer, using that on the areas I tend to get oily and have large pores.  However, use whatever primer works for your skin or no primer at all if you are not a fan.  Then, for foundation, I am using a mixture of the FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Luminous Foundation in L2 and the C.Y.O. Long-Lasting Foundation Lifeproof in 101 with a tiny bit of white mixer.  Obviously, to help cut down on time you don’t need to mix 3 types of foundations, I’m just working on the two main foundations in projects so I’ve been taking the time to mix them.  My recommendation is to use a foundation that you know and love.  If you are going out somewhere, you don’t want to be trying new products that you are not sure about, you want to look and feel your best.  I blend that into my skin with a damp beauty sponge.

Next up is concealer and powder.  I dab a bit of Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Fair underneath my eyes and on my eyelids to cancel out any redness or veins and to act as an eyeshadow primer with the same beauty sponge.  I then set my concealer and face with the Besame Cosmetics Vanilla Brightening Powder.  Again, use what you have, are comfortable in, and you know that works and you don’t have to fuss with.  At this point, I am ready for the additional face products.  Because I am so fair, especially in the winter, I tend to use a contour shade as more of a bronzer, meaning I buff it out and blow it out a bit more because with my fair skin, using a bronzer tends to pull really war and orange on my skin tone.  Currently, I love using the Kat Von D Beauty Shade + Light Contour Palette, the shade Sombre.  I work this into my cheekbones, lightly on the outside parts of my temples and forehead, and a light dusting under my jawline. | Quick & Easy Holiday Look

For blush, I want something to give my skin a more flushed appearance.  I tend to go a little heavy handed with blush for these kinds of looks because I love the look of rosy cheeks coming in from the cold.  Right now I’m using L.A. Colors Just Blushing Blush in the shade Just Playful.  It’s more of a neutral toned looking blush but on my skin tone it shows up a bit more vibrant mauvy pink.  For highlight, I like something a bit more subtle but something that gives that “Glow From Within” kind of vibe.  I like the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight.

Moving on to eyes, I like to keep it very, very neutral.  I want to be able to have an eye look that is not only simple but can pair with any type of lip you can think of.  For that, I just take the shade that I contoured with, today being Sombre, and run that into my crease.  I don’t like to pull it into my outer V area, just my crease.  Then, I take a darker, neutral brown on a smaller brush and run that in the crease as well.  I then take the contour shade and run it on my lower lash line.  At this point, I spray my face with setting spray.  One that helps my makeup last longer that I love is the Kat Von D Beauty Lock-It Setting Mist, it gives a healthy look to my skin, melts all the powders together, and definitely helps the longevity of my makeup.  After it dries, I throw a nude liner into my waterline, curl my lashes, and put a few coats of mascara on. | Quick & Easy Holiday Look

Before moving on to the lips, this is when I do my brows.  Some people are blessed with beautiful, thick brows.  I am not.  Seriously, out of everything in my makeup routine, my brows take me the longest.  They roughly take me anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes.  What I do is fill and shape them in with a pencil, right now that being the Kat Von D Beauty Signature Brow Precision Pencil in Light Brown and then I run through a bit of the NYX Professional Makeup Tinted Brow Mascara in Brunette (love the formula, not a fan of the shade it runs really warm). | Quick & Easy Holiday Look - Red Lip Option

Lastly, my favorite part!  LIPS!  Seriously, with this look you can do anything!  Matte, glossy, satin, cream and whatever shade your heart desires!  Some of my favorite Go-To’s for this look for holiday time include Kat Von D Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Nahz Fur Atoo, Besame Cosmetics 1946 Red Velvet Lipstick, Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Tar Pit, Wet N Wild’s Megalast Liquid Catsuit in Give Me Mocha, and Wet N Wild’s Lipstick in Cherry Bomb.  Any type of nudes go great with this look, hell, even natural lip colors with a lip balm or clear gloss looks good.  But, when it is for the Holiday’s, I prefer those brighter, bolder colors because they give off more of a statement without having to put more effort in.  I don’t do lashes, I don’t do liner.  I keep the face & eyes simple and accentuate the lips. | Quick & Easy Holiday Look - Nude Lip Option

So that’s it, guys.  That’s a quick and easy holiday look that I wanted to share with you guys.  With how chaotic the holidays can get, your makeup doesn’t have to be a stressor.  I mean, hell, makeup is me time.  I enjoy putting makeup on, that’s 15 to 20 minutes to myself that helps put me in a calm place.  I don’t need to complicate it, you know what I’m saying?  I hope that helps, you found it interesting or useful!  What are some of your favorite quick and easy holiday looks or products?  Let me know in the comments!  I hope the rest of your Monday goes well and until next time!

Covergirl is Now Cruelty-Free. Here’s What’s on my Wish List!

Hey everyone!  Hope you all are doing well today!  It is the day before the American Thanksgiving and boy am I ready for that!  Tonight I’m making the pumpkin cheesecake that I mentioned in Monday’s post and prepping the green bean casserole for tomorrow night.  I have a few more things to take care of tomorrow, but luckily I don’t work tomorrow, being that it is a holiday.  But let’s get into why we are really here today.  Covergirl is officially CRUELTY-FREE.  I remember seeing a Twitter post from a few different Vegan handles, but until it was officially verified by Tashina and Justin from Locigal Harmony, I was not going to get my hopes up or purchase any products.  If you have not checked out the 2 Part Series Tashina and Justin did on their YouTube channel, I will link both Part 1 and Part 2 for your convenience.  Seriously, if you have not watched it, go watch it now!  But enough chatter, let’s get on with it!

Please Note: This post DOES contain affiliate links.  Thank you!

Before I went cruelty-free, there were a few items here and there that I had tried from Covergirl and remember enjoying.  However, I genuinely think it has been a couple of years since I’ve used any items.  I will say I picked up two of their Advanced Radiance Pressed Powders when I went to Fred Meyer the other day because I am actually running low on face powders and they were buy one get on half off.   Today, however, we are going into the items that I would like to purchase from them in the future, of course after I have worked through several similar items in my collection!

There are a couple of mascaras I’d like to give a go to.  One of them being the LashBlast Volume Mascara (the one in the orange tube) and the Professional Super Thick Lash Waterproof Mascara.  It has been a while since I’ve used Covergirl mascaras and I feel that is some of the products they are known for.  One mascara that has been my favorite for years was the L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara but sadly L’Oreal is not actually Cruelty-Free, although they like to throw around that term lightly.

Something that caught my attention from the line was the Farewell Feathering Lip Liner.  I remember trying the Urban Decay Ozone Lip Liner a long time ago, but I can’t remember what I thought about it.  This seems like it is a good alternative to that product and clearly much cheaper!  I know Mariah Leonard likes to multitask that product so I’m curious to see if the Covergirl one will do the same.

Next is an oldie but hopefully a goodie.  Tati has mentioned loving the Cheekers Blush for years on her channel.  Even though I’ve seen them, heard about them, I somehow kept passing them up.  Granted they are on the lower part of the shelf and new releases tend to be placed at eye level.  Soft Sable and Iced Cappuccino are a couple of shades that really caught my attention.

Then we have the Micro-Fine + Define Pencil.  This I have heard several beauty YouTuber’s talk about on their channel and end up loving.  The downfall is they only have 3 shades available, so hopefully, I can find a shade that doesn’t run too warm.   Soft Brown seems like the ideal shade match for me, plus it comes with about the standard size of product (0.003 oz) and at $7.99 per pencil, I will definitely give it a go.  Like I said, once I move through what’s in my current collection.  Side note… there are quite a few eyebrow pencils in there.  Haha.

Last up is a foundation.  Now, if you have been reading my blog for a bit, I did an inventory of my foundations.  It has since grown a bit, so clearly I don’t need another foundation.  However, this one is going to be on the back burner for now.  It is the Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation.  The problem I remember having with Covergirl foundations in the past is for one, their lightest shade tends to run too dark and two, the foundations oxidized like a mother fucker.  I’m not talking about the dry down.  Oh no.  With every foundation, I expect about a half a shade darker dry down shade.   No, with Covergirl foundations I have tried in the past, they have oxidized around 2 shades deeper AND, AND mind you!  They turned ORANGE.  I don’t know about you, but I am not an Oompa Loompa… even though I love them.  So, that is why this product is at the bottom of the list.  I would like to try it, but I don’t have high hopes more-so about the shade.

So that does it for me guys.  Those are some of the products offered by Covergirl that I am interested in trying.  With Covergirl now being Cruelty-Free, Certifiable Cruelty-Free by Cruelty-Free International and Logical Harmony, I hope that opens eyes of other major brands showing that you don’t need to test on animals in order to make money or keep afloat.  It is a barbaric and archaic practice that we should no longer need to employ.   I also love that this gives more availability of cruelty-free products readily available at the drugstore and larger supermarkets, making cruelty-free beauty more accessible!

With that being said, I would love to hear about what products you’d like to try out from Covergirl, or if you have always used Covergirl, what are some of your must-have, highly recommend products!  I’d love to jot them down and try them out in the future!  Well, gang.  I really need to walk the girls and get ready to make dinner.  Although, if I’m going to be honest, I have no idea what I’m going to make since I’m already doing so much prepping for Thanksgiving.  I might say fuck it and order cheese pizza, which is what I did last year haha.  If you celebrate the American Thanksgiving, I hope you have a wonderful holiday, whether it be spent with loved ones, friends, or co-workers just in case you are having to work.  Until we chat again Friday, thanks for stopping by!

Anti-Haul: Holiday Edition 2018

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing well today!  It has been a crazy month and a half for me, hence the shitty upload schedule.  But here I am with another post, today discussing some major holiday cruelty-free releases that I will not be purchasing.  With the holiday’s right around the corner, it is easy for us all to get sucked into pretty packaging, pretty products, and FOMO.  Most products that launch this time of year tend to be Limited Edition which has the potential to cause some to almost go into a panic wanting to purchase all of the new products.  However, like most products, they get talked about for a bit, put into a drawer, just for the cycle to continue.  Well, here are some of the products that I found that I will not be purchasing this holiday season.  If you are interested in what they are, just keep on reading!  All images were pulled off of the Trendmood Instagram.

Fenty Beauty Holiday Collection
Fenty Beauty is a line that I appreciate and value, but unfortunately doesn’t really appeal to me.  The foundation, primer, match stix, and highlights didn’t work for me.  With this release, although absolutely beautiful packaging, you should NOT buy products for the pretty packaging.  It is an absolute waste of money.  This collection seems to mostly focus on sparkle and shine, from a mini Fairy Bomb, a Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Palette,  Metallic Eye & Lip Crayons, Frosted Metal Lipsticks, Metallic Powders, shimmer Match Stix set, and a couple of sets of Mattemoiselle lipsticks.  Again, looks absolutely beautiful, but I am not a fan of super shimmery, glittery, metallic products like this.  These products would never get touched in my collection.

Dose of Colors MICKEY MOUSE Collection
I currently have two shades of the Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipsticks and they are probably my favorite if not one of my favorite formulas.  They also have out some glosses, stick lipsticks, eyeshadows, and highlighters.  I am quite interested in trying those formulas down the line, once I’ve used up more of my products.  This collection offers a few liquid lipstick shades, 3 regular lipsticks, and an eyeshadow palette that has a highlighter in it.  This, in theory, would be a great way to sample a few more products.  I’m not interested, however, because the shades in the palette are shades I know I already have in my collection and the shades for the liquid lipsticks and regular lipsticks would not be that unique to my collection and seem to run a bit warm.  I do not like most lip products that run warm, they look weird against my skin tone.

Jouer Cosmetics
Jouer, in general, is a brand that unfortunately doesn’t interest me.  They have beautiful packaging, but beyond that none of the lip shades, face products, eyeshadows have caught my eye and lured me into purchasing.  Same goes with this collection.  Packaging is an absolute A+ from me.  I love how beautiful and classic the packaging is, but the products inside.  Meh.  The eyeshadow palette is a massive turn off for me, because for one all of the shades look very glittery, which is not my style, and for me, those shades would be difficult for me to work with because I don’t feel I can make a completed and cohesive look.  After working on the Kat Von D Beauty Shade & Light Contour Palette and trying to use it up, I will never buy a face palette.  Several of the lip products look similar in shade and the blush is a shade I do not wear.

Now, this is one of the Holiday releases I am actually really tempted into purchasing.  Not so much for the lashes or lip products, but for the palette.  Those matte shades are right up my alley and those metallic shades look stunning.  I love Marlena and I love Makeup Geek shadows.  However, the reason I won’t be purchasing this is again, I feel I have very similar shades in my collection.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics ALIEN Collection
If anyone knows how to do colorful and unique collections, it is Jeffree Star, this collection being no exception.  From the design of the packaging, shade selection, and names, he really knows how to pull it all together.  I’ve purchased his lip scrubs before, great quality and flavors, but they ended up going to waste because I do not use lip scrubs.  I’m currently panning a Lip Ammunition and even though I love the color, the formula isn’t anything spectacular.  The liquid lipstick formula is honestly hit or miss for the shades I have purchased.  Unicorn Blood & Dominatrix were a bit patchy for me and wore off pretty quickly (granted, I’m pretty hard on my lips hehe), but Celebrity Skin & my personal favorite Posh Spice were great.  The reason I’m not interested in anything with this collection is the shades.  None of the shades for the lip products appeal to me and the only shade I’m interested in in the palette is the dark grey shade, which I have in my collection.

Now, I know there are tons of holiday releases happening, honestly they happen every year, but those are the ones that A) are Cruelty-free and B) caught my eye.  What are some holiday beauty releases that have caught your eye?  Any that you might purchase or are there some you will definitely pass on?  Let me know in the comments below! The only item I picked up for the holiday releases was the Anastasia Beverly Hills SULTRY Palette.  No regrets!  Anyway, that does it for me!  Until next time, I hope you have a great rest of your day!

Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation

Hey guys, hope you all are doing well!  In Seattle today, it is absolutely gorgeous!  It’s a beautiful sunny day, there’s a light cool breeze, and not a cloud in the sky.  Some of the trees are already turning colors and I am in love!  However, that’s not what I came to talk about today.  Today is my review on the FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation.  I’ve been using this foundation for a couple of months now and I feel I have a pretty good grasp on the foundation.  So if you are curious as to what I think about it, then let’s get into it!

Note: This post DOES contain affiliate links.

FLOWER Beauty, if you don’t know, is actually Drew Barrymore’s brand. It started off in Walmart and is also now carried in Ulta.  The foundation comes in a glass bottle with white and rose gold packaging, has a pump, and comes with 1.01 fl oz of product.  On Ulta’s website, it retails for $13.99 US and they offer 12 shades.  Referencing Ulta’s website, the foundation is supposed to have buildable coverage, a soft luminous finish, and feel weightless on the skin.

With the basics out of the way, let’s get onto the actual review, shall we?  For the application, I prefer using a sponge.  I’m not a fan of brushes, but I did try both with this product.  With a sponge, you definitely get less coverage, but for me, it is not significantly less.  The brush side looks really nice as well but a bit streaky so I just smoothed it over with a sponge. Upon first use, I did not use any primer, I just washed and moisturized my face as normal.  Everything applied evenly and smoothly.  Right away I noticed how dewy it was.  My skin looked so glowy but not greasy.  I have normal to combination oily skin.  I get really oily on my forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin.  I put on a small amount of concealer, just under my eyes then set my entire face with a translucent powder.  I finished the rest of my makeup and went throughout my day.  Within about 3 hours, my oils started really showing through and it was downhill from there.  I didn’t look glowy, I looked greasy.  I kept this foundation on for about 11 hours that initial day and by the end of it, I looked like I sank my face in a tub of oil.  HOWEVER, this foundation did not break down anywhere.  Not my nose, not in between my eyebrows, not my chin, nowhere.  It stayed fully intact.  I was THOROUGHLY impressed.

Fast forward to roughly 2 months later.  I have tried this foundation several ways, with different primers and have tried mixing it with other foundations and here is what I learned.  For one, I do really love and enjoy this foundation but I cannot wear it on its own (but I will try on its own during the winter time to see if I have the same results as in summer).  I like it best with a pore-filling, mattifying primer in my oily spots and mixing it with an extremely matte foundation.  My favorite foundation (holy grail status) is the Fiona Stiles Matte Finish Foundation Concentrate.  When mixing the Light Illusion foundation with the Fiona Stiles, it did take a little longer for my skin to appear greasy.  However, mixing it with the Kat Von D Beauty Lock-It Foundation, my skin had more of a demi-matte finish initially and had a bit better control on keeping my oils at bay.  Also, quick side note, I fucked up and grabbed the wrong shade of both the FLOWER Beauty foundation (L2 which is too dark) and Kat Von D (L42 way too light).  Mixing them together not only gives me an ideal finish but an ideal shade!

So, for this review, I am going to showcase it in my ideal method which is mixing it with the Kat Von D Beauty Lock-It Foundation and a little bit of the Milani Pore-Filling + Mattifying Primer.  I did a little over a 10-hour wear test, with no touch-ups, blotting, or powdering throughout the day.  The only thing I changed was my lip color.  Also, these photos are unfiltered, and the only “editing” I did was cropping, adding the borders, and text.  I did not touch up the photos in any way. | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 8:15am Initial Application | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 8:15am Initial Application | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 8:15am Initial Application

I applied my foundation at about 8:15 in the morning with a beauty sponge.  Overall, it looked really smooth, didn’t look heavy or cakey anywhere, but I did notice it looked a little weird on the top of my nose.  I did set my face with a light translucent powder all over to help set the foundation because it was still a bit tacky and because I do get oily.  As you can see from the pictures above, I feel my skin has a demi-matte finish and looks really smooth, and did not feel heavy on the skin.  Quick side note, don’t mind the crazy hair.  It’s been dyed black and I had a side head shave and am now growing it out to my original color… so I’m going to be having crazy hair pictures for a while.  Plus, I don’t mess with my hair anyway.  It always goes up in a ponytail.  Anyway, all of my products, concealer, powders, etc. blended out and melded onto my skin without any issue.  I also want to note, I always set my face just to meld all the powders together, but for this one, I just used a basic setting spray, that didn’t affect wear time or finish. | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 12:45pm First Check-In | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 12:45pm First Check-In

My first check-in was about 4 and a half hours later around 12:45pm.  I did notice a slight oxidation throughout the day, I’d say about half a shade darker but not super noticeable.  At this time, it did start looking oily on my T-Zone area and was getting slightly cakey looking around my mouth, but nothing excessive and it was wearing off the tip of my nose only because I kept messing with my nose.  Looking really up close, the foundation combination was not breaking apart due to natural wear.  It still, in my opinion, looks really good, I actually like the level of dewiness up to this point.  It also still felt very lightweight on the skin. | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 6:30pm Final Check-In | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 6:30pm Final Check-In | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 6:30pm Final Check-In

My final check-in was about 6:30pm, which was a little over 10 hours of wear.  I started getting a migraine and wanted to wash everything off and go to bed.  Looking up close at the foundation, it was still a bit cakey looking around my mouth area, but it looked about the same as the first check-in, so it did not seem like it got worse throughout the day.  My oils were definitely poking through at this point and I did look pretty greasy.  It also wore off a little around my mouth because I ate a very messy sandwich, which who can really blame any foundation for wearing off then, right?  However, just like in the first check-in and every time I have worn this foundation, it did not break apart ANYWHERE on me.  My nose was still intact, cheeks, forehead, it didn’t get weird or patchy anywhere.  I could not believe how well this foundation held up. | Review: FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Liquid Foundation - 6:30pm Final Check-In - Powdered

I also wanted to show you guys how it looked powdered.  Besides the mouth area, putting just a little bit of powder in my really oily area toned down the oils significantly and least, in my opinion, looks almost as good as when I first applied it.  What do you think?

Overall, I really love this foundation.  I’m excited to try this foundation by itself in the winter time and see if my oils don’t pull through as quickly as during the summer.  I was absolutely blown away by the fact that my oils did not break apart the foundation when wearing it alone or mixing with other foundations, because most of my other foundations do.  I would say this foundation has about a medium coverage, but buildable.  When wearing it alone, when I went to build up certain areas, I was able to get a bit more coverage and the foundation did not bunch up, look cakey, or move around the first layer.  I would recommend this foundation, if you can find your shade and if you like really dewy foundations.  I think this would be great for extremely dry skin up to combo oily skin.  I have a few dry patches around my nose and I did not notice it emphasizing the dry patches or texture on my skin.  If you are straight up oily, I think you might like it, but you would need to be diligent about powdering or blotting every few hours.  I’m not a chick who blots my makeup or powders throughout the day.  The only thing I ever touch-up is my lipstick.  Whenever I run out of this foundation, I will absolutely pick it up again, this time in the right shade.

Well, this was yet another long review.  I tried to be as thorough as possible and I hope I covered all the points.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments and I’ll try and answer you as soon as I can!  If you have tried this foundation already, let me know what you thought of it.  Do you love it?  Hate it?  So, so?  Let me know!  Also, do you have any cruelty-free foundation recommendations?  I also love trying new foundations, although I do need to get through with some in my collection right now, I don’t mind making a list of to-try.  I feel I have blabbered on long enough.  Thank you so much for stopping by and until next time!

Full Face CRUELTY-FREE Drugstore. | Full Face Cruelty-Free Drugstore

Hey guys!!  Hope all is well wherever you are.  Last week, or maybe it was the week before last, I posted my Holy Grail makeup items and I received a comment from Immy.  She asked me if I had any drugstore or inexpensive makeup items that I was surprised by or really liked and it got the wheels turning.  I love drugstore makeup but I think because of YouTube I’ve been sucked into purchasing more high-end products and forget about the wonderful drugstore finds.  So, for today, I thought I would do a full face of drugstore makeup, cruelty-free of course.  If that sounds like something you’re interested in, just keep on reading.  And thank you Immy for the question and inspiration! | Base Products

For the base, I started out with the Milani Prime Shield Pore Filling + Mattifying Primer ($9.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  It’s a good, basic primer.  Does help me stay more matte throughout the day.  I must like it somewhat because I’m about to finish off my second tube of it.  It is not very pore filling though, just a good basic mattifying primer.  For foundation, I’m still getting a feel of the FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Luminous Makeup ($13.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  A full review will be coming in the future, but I’m trying to get a feel for wear time, how it mixes with other products, how it works with a primer/without, etc.  Concealer, I pulled out my Wet N Wild Photofocus Concealer Wand ($3.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  I love this concealer, it works very well for me.  Although not brightening because it does match my skin tone, but does help cover the darkness around my eyes.  To set my under eyes, I’ve been using the Wet N Wild Single Eyeshadow in Brulee ($0.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  For my skin tone, it works beautifully.  To set the rest of the face, I use my much loved, ride or die, Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder ($9.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  I won’t stay too long on this part if you want to know more check out my Ride or Die post, but just know I fucking LOVE it. | Face Products

Now let’s move on to the rest of the face.  For bronzer, the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer in Bronzer ($12.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link) is the way to go.  The Light Bronzer shade pulls too orange but Bronzer I can get to work beautifully on my skin.  It blends like a dream, gives enough bronze to the face, and smells divine!  For contour, I’ve been trying out the L.A. Girl Just Blushing Powder in Just Because ($5.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  It works well for my fair skin but on any deeper than me skin tones, I feel it would pull too grey and ashy.  Blush, well, you can’t go wrong with the Wet N Wild ColorIcon Blush in Mellow Wine ($2.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  Blends great, long lasting, and is $3 PEOPLE!  For highlight, I pulled out a blinding but goodie haha.  The Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette for Face & Eyes in Natural ($13.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  It is blinding, but oh so gorgeous.  You can blend any shades you want in this to create any type of highlight you need.  To set, I did about 3 to 4 sprays of my Milani Make It Dewy Setting Spray ($9.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  This stuff is potent stuff, spray too much and you will look super greasy, 3 to 4 sprays are all you need! | The Eyes | Milani Soft & Sultry Eyeshadow Palette

Onto the eyes!  I’m using the Milani Soft & Sultry Eyeshadow Palette ($14.97 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  To start, I take the shade “Bare It All” all over the lid with a fluffy brush.  Then in the crease with a smaller fluffy brush, I take “Smokin’ Hot” and sweep that back and forth from the outer part of my eye to the inner part.  On the outer corner, aka outer v, I take “Untamed” and concentrate that more on the outer part of my eye, then lightly bring the leftover product into the crease.  On my lower lash line, I take the deeper shade “Untamed” and run that close to my lash line, then blend it out with a bit of “Smokin’ Hot.”  For my inner corner highlight, I tap in a little bit of “Diamonds & Pearls.”  To finish off the eyes, I take the Physicians Formula Killer Curves Mascara in Black/Brown ($10.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link) and line my waterline with the NYX Professional Makeup Wonder Pencil ($4.49 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link). | Brows Baby!

Moving onto brows.  Now, if you have been reading a few of my posts, you know how much I love the Kat Von D Signature Precision Brow Pencil ($20 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link), however, that is definitely not drugstore.  However, the ELF Cosmetics Instant Lift Brow Pencil ($2 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link) is most definitely drugstore, one hell of a deal & value, and fucking amazing!  If you can find a shade that works for you (they only have 3, I know, I know) it is a pretty great brow pencil.  The pencil itself is thicker than most other pencils I have tried, so if you have super thin brows you might have difficulty with it, but I have thinner brows and it works great for me.  It is a little waxier than the Kat Von D product, so if you are a beginner you might enjoy this a lot more because I feel it would be easier to work with.  To set those bad boys I used the NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Eye Brow Gel in Clear ($5.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link). | Luscious Lips

Last, but certainly not least are the lips.  For this look since I went more cool-toned, I decided I wanted to do a regular lipstick instead of my usual liquid lip so I grabbed out the NYX Professional Makeup Suede Matte Lip Liner ($3.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link) and the matching Suede Matte Lipstick in Moonwalk ($7.99 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  It is described as a greige, but it is a deep purple greige shade.  Reminds me a lot of MAC Stone.  And that’s it!

So that complete’s my full face using all cruelty-free drugstore products.  As you can see, you don’t need to spend an arm and a leg on makeup to look good.  I know on here I have talked a lot about higher-end makeup, but that’s because most I have already had in my collection.  Plus, my goal is to use most of my higher-end makeup up and stick to mostly drugstore products because I truly feel you don’t need to spend that much money on makeup.  Are there any cruelty-free drugstore makeup items that you love and swear by? Let me know in the comments!  I’m always looking to try and find some great drugstore products!  Well, that does it for me.  I hope you found this interesting or helpful.  Also, let me know, do you want me to show my face with the products on the skin, or is how I made this post okay?  I was trying something different, still trying to figure things out, so please, if you don’t mind, let me know what you’d prefer.  Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time!

If My ENTIRE Makeup Collection Disappeared… | If My Entire Makeup Collection Disappeared, These Are The First 10 Makeup Items I'd Repurchase

Hey all and welcome!  Happy Friday!  Today I thought we would do a fun little YouTube inspired post.  This idea originally came from Emily Noel and Jessica on YouTube, which they got the idea from a subscriber (how cool right?).  Emily’s video I will link here and Jessica’s video I will link here.  So, the title leaves out the second part of this post.  If my entire makeup collection disappeared, what 10 makeup items would I repurchase first.  Isn’t that a cool idea?  It was so different and even though the videos were posted a while ago, I thought this would be a fun post idea!  I’d really love to see more people do this video idea as a post, so if you have done it or plan to do it, leave your link in the comment section so I can check it out!  But, if you are curious as to what my 10 makeup items would be, just keep on reading!  Just want to quickly throw this out there, I plan to go in order of which I would apply my makeup, this is not including any tools, and everything can be purchased from one location.  Because in my mind, if my entire collection disappeared and I needed things to put together a look, I don’t want to have to be running around finding everything.  I’d want a one-stop shop, you know what I mean?  Anyway, onto the makeup! | Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Liquid Makeup in 1.5 $40 US

1. Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Liquid Makeup ($40 US)

Now, if you have been reading my blog for a bit, you know how much I love this foundation.  This foundation works so beautifully on my skin, I don’t even need a primer.  It looks so natural and has all day staying power on my skin.  This isn’t even a question on purchasing! | Wet N Wild PhotoFocus Concealer Wand in Light Ivory $3.99 US

2. Wet N Wild Photofocus Concealer in Light Ivory ($3.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Next up would be the Wet N Wild Photofocus Concealer.  It is hands down my favorite concealer that I have tried, it is inexpensive, and you get a great bang for your buck.  I not only use it as a concealer for under my eyes and any spots I need to conceal, but it also works great as an eye primer. | Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Translucent Powder $9.99 US

3. Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Translucent Powder ($9.99 US)

Yet another product that is Holy Grail status for me, so you know I am not skipping out on this one.  It sets my makeup beautifully and keeps me radiant without looking greasy.  It also works incredibly under the eyes to set my concealer. | L.A. Girl Just Blushing Blush in Just Because $5.99 US

4. L.A. Girl Just Blushing Blush in Just Because ($5.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
A great multitasking product for me.  I use this as a contour as well as an eyeshadow.  It is a great tone for my skin tone and I love throwing this into the crease for a quick swipe of color on my eyes. | Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette for Face & Eyes in Natural $13.99 US

5. Physicians Formula Shimmer Bricks in Natural Nude ($14.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Another type of multitasking product.  If I focus more of my brush on top, I can use as a wonderful, bright highlight, I can use different shades as a pop on my eyes for shadow, and if I focus more at the bottom, I can obtain a very glowy bronze, or if I focus on the pinks, a glowy blush.  I love single products that can multitask. | Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz $21 US

6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($21 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
I love the Anastasia Brow Wiz, I have gone through so many.  It has never failed me or let me down.  I’m also very particular when it comes to my brows, so I would definitely want to pick up something tried and true! | NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Clear Eyebrow Gel $5.99 US

7. NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Clear Eyebrow Gel ($5.99 US)

Because of working in such a humid environment, I need a brow gel to make sure my brows don’t melt off or go anywhere.  This NYX one hasn’t let me down and for $5.99 I feel it is such a great buy!  I’ve had my current one for a while now and it has yet to dry up on me. | Essence I Love Extreme Volume Mascara $4.99 US

8. Essence I Love Extreme Waterproof Mascara ($4.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Because I work with dogs for a living, I need a mascara that is waterproof but still makes my lashes look great.  This mascara does that for me and it is so inexpensive!  It gives me volume, length, and holds my curl.  Great, great product. | Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Desert Suede $18 US

9. Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Desert Suede ($18 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Oh, look at that, another holy grail product.  I can wear this lip shade every day and not get sick of it.  For me, this is my everyday nude that I can dress up and dress down and it looks good on me no matter what. | Milani Make It Last Setting Spray $9.99 US

10. Milani Make It Last Setting Spray ($9.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Setting spray, for my line of work anyway, is a must.  This Milani one is great, does the job and does it well.  It sets and blends all the powders together, but doesn’t make me look matte or like the life has been sucked out of my face.

So that does it for the 10 makeup items I’d repurchase if my entire collection disappeared.  If you have done this idea, drop your link in the comments so I can check it out!  If you haven’t done a post, I’d love to know what 10 items you’d repurchase!  Are there any items that I would pick up that you also would pick up?  Let me know in the comments!  Well, I think I’ve rambled on enough for one evening.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend and until next time!

My Makeup Wishlist…🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤

Hey everyone!  I hope you are doing well and you are having a great Friday!  Got any plans for the weekend?  I’m not going to be doing much here, just scheduling a few posts for next week and playing with my girls.  For today’s post, however, I thought I would share some makeup items that are on my wishlist.  Now, I really don’t want my blog to turn into, “You need this, buy this product, you should totally get this product,” even though I have posted a few hauls.  What I want my blog to focus on is using makeup, repurposing makeup, and truly finding the outstanding products in my collection.  So, when I say these products are on my makeup wishlist, they are for one all drugstore prices and two, products I will purchase AFTER I have used up what’s in my collection.  If you are curious as to what those products are, well, then keep on reading!  Side note, I do not own any of these products, all pictures were taken from Just so we are clear!

1. Ardell Matte Whipped Lipstick in Upscale Flavor ($9.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
I don’t know about you, but I am a definite sucker for lip products.  Obsession is real, especially when it comes to liquid lipsticks.  I want to try every brand on the market and find the absolute best liquid lipstick.  Now, I don’t know if I will ever get around to purchasing this product just due to the fact of my large liquid lipstick collection and the fact I have yet to fully use up a lip product.  That’s right ladies and gentlemen, I have never panned any form of lip product.  So, for now, I am doing everything in my power NOT to pick up ANOTHER lip product.  I do NOT need it.  Also, knowing my luck, it would be a dupe for something in my collection anyway.

2. Burt’s Bees Blush with Vitamin E in the shade Toasted Cinnamon ($9.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
This blush literally screams at me.  Personally, I am a fan of a more neutral, brown toned blush.  I don’t like pink nor peach blushes.  One shade that I have always adored as a blush was in the Limited Edition Champagne Pop Collection called Amaretto.  It is more of a brown-toned blush.  This reminds me of it.  I know Kathleen loves this blush shade a lot and it looks beautiful on her, even though she has a bit deeper skin tone than myself.  Once I use up my blushes, which God knows how long that will take, I will definitely purchase this bad boy.

3. Catrice Prime and Fine Dewy Glow Fixing Spray ($5.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
I don’t quite remember what post I mentioned my love of dewy setting sprays, but I love dewy setting sprays haha.  I happened to see Taylor use this in a video and she’s been hooked on it since and I am totally sucked into this bad boy.  This looks like it gives the skin a very luminous, almost wet appearance even after it dries, but it didn’t look oily on her.  She also said it dried pretty quickly and didn’t feel tacky.  I definitely look for that in a dewy setting spray.  So, again, once I use up my current sprays, this will be purchased!

4. FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer ($9.99 US)
Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Yet another Taylor recommendation.  The reason I’m interested in this concealer is that it looks more hydrating than most other concealers.  Also, the YouTubers that I have watched who love this said it wasn’t very heavy on the under eyes and they didn’t feel it dried them out.  As I’m getting older, I’ve noticed I’m not a fan of dryer formulas for concealers.  So, I definitely would like to give this concealer a try in the future.

5. Milani Baked Blush in Rose D’oro ($7.99 US) & Milani Baked Bronzer in Glow ($8.99 US)
Blush: Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Bronzer: Affiliate Link | Regular Link
Both the Baked Blush and Bronzer from Milani have been in the back of my mind for years, but I never picked them up.  Don’t ask me why because truly I have no idea.  However, the tones of both of these look absolutely beautiful.  I have tried the Romantic Rose blush from Milani but ended up passing that along to a friend because unfortunately it never showed up on my skin, no matter how much I tried to build it up.  But these, these look beautiful.  The bronzer shade doesn’t appear (least online) too orange.  That’s the problem I have with most bronzers for my skin tone is they run immensely orange on my skin.  Do any of my fair skin folks have that problem?  Do any of you with deeper skin tones ever have that problem with bronzers appearing orange?  If you have any suggestions for a bronzer that doesn’t pull orange, please leave them in the comments!  I’d love to check them out in the future!

So that does it for my current makeup wishlist.  I don’t have any palette’s on this list because most palettes are the same thing, just switched up a bit and in different packaging.  I feel I can dupe pretty much any palette that holds some interest in my mind with what is in my collection.  Is there any makeup that is currently on your makeup wishlist?  Or, have you tried any of the products that I mentioned above?  What do/did you think of them?  Or do you have some recommendations?  Please let me know in the comments!  The more help, the better!  Well, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read my post and until next time!
